The Oxford Local Plan 2036 First Steps Consultation is now open online, giving YOU the chance to have your say about the key issues that the Local Plan will need to consider.
The Consultation is open until 5 August, so act now to avoid missing the opportunity to contribute.
This First Steps Consultation gives you the opportunity to help shape the Oxford Local Plan 2036 before Oxford City Council begin to develop the policies.
The responses will contribute to a vision for the city for the next 20 years and will guide the approach taken in draft policies.
What will it cover?
That’s partly up to you, but to give you a flavour, the last Local Plan (2001-2016) included sections on Transport, Natural Environment, Historic Environment, Housing, Economy, Health, Education, Sport & Recreation, Retails, Tourism and the Arts and Development sites.

- If you have around half an hour to get involved: look through the first steps consultation booklet and complete the online questionnaire.
- If you have a little longer available to read around the issues: see the background papers and then complete the online questionnaire. If you would prefer to comment without using the online questionnaire, please email firstname.lastname@example.org or phone 01865 252847 to make comments or request a paper copy of the leaflet questionnaire.
- Oxford city Council has also carried out a Sustainability Appraisal Scoping Report. If you wish comment on that, there is space in their online questionnaire, or you can email comments to the email address above.
- You can also go and chat to the team at an event near you, where they will have a freepost leaflet questionnaire available. (This is also available at libraries, community centres, leisure centres and Council offices).
